The Girl on the Train, come October is about to be upgraded from Paula Hawkins' bestselling novel to a new film. In the trailer, Kanye West's "Heartless" scores the latest visuals from the film in a slowed down remix. The trailer is full of drama, making us question who-murdered-who in Gone Girl fashion. The book has been frequently compared to Gone Girl, the comparison is that of surface. While the story involves a mysterious murder, unreliable witness, and possibly sociopathic woman, there is much more.
Hawkins' story revolves around the following: Rachel (Emily Blunt), a divorced alcoholic has created a fantasy life for a couple she sees every day during her commute on the train. When Megan (Haley Bennett), the wife in the perfect couple, is murdered, Rachel believes she may have a lead as to who could have done it, but things get messy due to her being inebriated. It doesn’t help that Megan and her husband live down the street from Rachel’s ex-husband (Justin Theroux), a rocky relationship with whom doesn’t help her case.
