Netflix has released a trailer for an upcoming Marvel series Luke Cage, which takes us to Marvel's Harlem, introduces us to the character himself, and how it all connects. The series will mark Marvel's first African American led series and we've heard it portrays Harlem pretty accurately. In this trailer we can see the city Alfre Woodard's Mariah Dillard calls a "perpetual symbol of hope and prosperity." As the trailer builds in its intensity, we get a glimpse of the violence and terror that has overcome the city in the wake of Cottonmouth's reign. Rosario Dawson instructs protagonist Luke that "if you want justice, you have to get it yourself," and then cue the Run the Jewels remix of Miike Snow's "Heart Is Full."
There are tons of previews in this trailer like some of Luke's backstory, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, and Cottonmouth getting his sleeves dirty. If you are unsure about this series, the trailer below should convince you otherwise. The series will premiere September 30th on Netflix.
