Nelly Fans Streaming His Music To Help Him Get Out Of Debt
We all had nights in the 2000s that Nelly's music was the soundtrack to, whether it was "Hot In Here" or "Ride Wit Me." Now it's time for us to return the favor, as TMZ has reported that Nelly is facing a $2.4 million tax lien from the IRS and he needs our help.
The St. Louis rapper hasn't had a hit record in years which means he likely can't pay off this debt any time soon. Nelly's fans have rallied to stream his music on Spotify, but an artist only gets $0.006 to $0.0084 per stream. This means that Nelly’s music will have to be streamed 287,176,547 times to earn the amount he needs to settle his debt with the IRS.
The colossal amount of streams necessary hasn't discouraged fans though. #HotInHereStreamingParty was trending on Twitter as of yesterday. Not all heroes wear capes!
