Despite opposition from many organizations and consumers, many fashion companies are still using fur, whether it be in accessories or clothes. Yesterday morning, Armani Group stated they will no longer use fur starting this fall (just in time for winter clothes!) across all brands including: Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Armani Exchange, Armani Junior, Armani Casa, and Armani Jeans. Below is a statement issued by Armani:
“Technological progress made over the years allows us to have valid alternatives at our disposition that render the use of cruel practices unnecessary as regards animals. Pursuing the positive process undertaken long ago, my company is now taking a major step ahead, reflecting our attention to the critical issues of protecting and caring for the environment and animals.”
Way to go, Armani! We hope that many companies follow in their footsteps and become fur-free.
