Snowden seems like an unconventional film for Joseph Gordon-Levitt to str in, since it’s about a spy / former NSA contractor. JGL typically plays roles of quirky dudes in independent films, and this seems rather the opposite.
The film is directed by Oliver Stone and turns the tale of one largest intelligence leaks in the history of the U.S. into a film that channels the style of Bourne Identity. Starring in the film, alongside JGL are Shailene Woodley as Snowden’s girlfriend, Lindsay Mills, Zachary Quinto as journalist Glenn Greenwald, and last but not least, Nicholas Cage. Edward Snowden himself is not behind the film but he did lend a hand during the film’s development.
