Wale shared his first new single, “My P.Y.T.,” which is the first taste we have gotten of his upcoming album S.H.I.N.E. The track features Sam Sneak and Wale on his “Pretty Young Thing.” The album will be his first project since 2015, and we can’t wait.
Wale also tweeted that we should be expecting Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy (S.H.I.N.E.) soon – this summer to be exact.
In an interview with Complex, Wale said, “Sonically, I always want to push myself as an artist and I thinkS.H.I.N.E. is a big example of me pushing myself and trying new things. My fifth album is a reason to celebrate, and a lot of the music I’ve been making is very chill. I’m singing—and I’m not singing to be the next Brian McKnight—I’m singing to enhance my songwriting ability and to evolve as an artist.”
