Last night, the Earth virtually shattered when the United Kingdom decided to leave the European Union in what is being called “Brexit.” British Prime Minister David Cameron announced he will be stepping down in October as a result of the vote. “The British people have voted to leave the European Union, and their will must be respected,” Cameron said. “The will of the British people is an instruction that must be delivered.”
The United Kingdom is the first country to leave the European Union and some fear that their leaving will have a domino effect. The vote, which was 52 in favor of leaving and 48 in favor of staying, has rattled a lot of celebrities including favorite artists of ours.
While it may seem like Brexit is positive in that it will give the country complete control of its economy, its implications are a little more sinister. Many think it will signal the end of Britain’s inclusive immigration policy and that this is a vote against multiculturalism.
